1130 lv. was collected from EQ’s Christmas bazaars in December 2012.
EQ has a tradition of running Christmas bazaars and this year our efforts were supported by the city’s municipal authority that provided a stall in its ‘Christmas Village’ and the management of Ruse Mall that allowed our team to ‘set up shop’ in the downstairs foyer.

EQ’s chairman, David Bisset, recently represented Bulgaria in an event organized by the international NGO, World Vision.
The meeting took place in Busteni, Romania and was hosted by the branch of World Vision in that country. Besides Bulgaria, the other country’s represented were Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Moldova, Cyprus, Italy, Armenia, Azerbejan and Lebanon.

The EQ team that included children and volunteers was acknowledged as one of the most active and interesting participants in the second Uzana Festival.
The charity stand called “EKOtvoritelnost” and associated workshops for products from waste and natural materials were among the most visited attractions on the meadow. On 6th and 7th July, 2012, EQ’s “ЕКсперт” programme got under way with the package Interactive Training and Alternative Therapy: Different Ways of Working with Vulnerable Children and Young People.
The programme includes 2 training modules tailored to the needs of those working in the spheres of social services sphere and education (formal and informal).
The programme provides access to the extensive experience of EQ experts whose work has been acknowledged nationally and internationally as best practice.

Mainly as a result of its activities in Teteven leading to the closure of the baby home, Equilibrium has developed a strong relationship with the social services network in the small town of Cherven Bryag where experts from the Ruse complex have provided both training and technical support for the development of new services (Centre of Social Support).

On 22nd May, 2012, David Bisset and Elitsa Velikova represented Equilibrium during the closing stages of a conference on autism held in the prestigious Tokuda Hospital in Sofia.
The event had actually started on 20th May and was convened by Step Foundation for Bulgaria’s Invisible Children, Tacitus Association and the National Association of Resource Teachers. Under the motto “Growing stronger together” young clients and school volunteers from the Complex of Social Services for Children and Families “travelled” through Europe
Despite the lack of electricity caused by a failure in the neighbourhood network, the youngsters managed to celebrate Europe Day – 9 May 2012 – with lots of creativity and improvisation.

On April, 17, 2012, we took part in an event at the Culture Hall of Ruse Municipality that gave us the opportunity to share our experience from the project Children Meet Their New Friends – the Horses and explain the positive impact on the young participants.

Equilibrium’s annual conference took place on 23rd March 2012 in the Battenberg Hall of the Ruse Regional History Museum.
Guests included representatives of the Child Protection Department, Social Assistance Directorate, municipal and regional administration and the new director of the municipal Humanitarian Activities Department – Irena Petrova. On 4th April, 2012 David Bisset and Elitsa Velikova joined other members of Ruse’s social welfare community and representatives of the business community in an event organised by the Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion (FSCI).
Representatives of the foundation provided information about their programme in Gabrovo that provides accommodation and mentoring support for young adults who are socially vulnerable because of their upbringing in an institution. They described their desire to replicate the model in Ruse.
