On Friday Oct. 10th, the Ruse complex celebrated the 9th anniversary of its inception and used the occasion to formally open the new playground under the banner of “Adventures for brave young lions”.
The title alludes to the fact that the opportunity to create the new facility arose because of a generous donation from the four Lions Clubs in the city.
We celebrated outdoors amid the newly painted fixtures so as to show off the work of our busy volunteers using materials provided thanks to the generosity of Unicredit Bulbank. Altogether, it was a day to be thankful for the generosity of local sponsors who were among the participants and awarded with certificates as “friends of the complex”.
The programme was designed by teenage volunteers from our training programme for young social entrepreneurs and a group from the School for Textiles and Design joined the festivities and led the activities for younger clients of the complex.
After the official cutting of the ribbon by Milena Vlahova, our operations director, donors and colleagues from the city’s social service community, the playground was invaded by young clients of the complex, Pink House and other service providers.
The audience was warmly addressed by senior members of the EQ team and representatives of the municipal authority, regional and city directorates of social assistance and the child protection department.
