My name is Milena Nedelcheva.

I grew up in a family where love and care were the foundation of everything. These early lessons in humanity and support left a deep mark on me and continue to shape the path I have chosen.

When I was 13, I lost my father – an event that changed our lives. My mother took care of me and my younger brother with remarkable strength and dedication. Just a year later, I left my home to continue my education in Pleven. Later, my path led me to Ruse, where I built my own family and raised my two daughters with love – just as I had been raised.

My professional journey began in 1996 as a social worker. Over the years, I have taken on different roles – from frontline practice to leadership positions within the social assistance and child protection system. This experience has given me not only knowledge, but also a deep understanding of the needs of children and families in vulnerable situations.

Driven by the belief that every child deserves care, safety, and the opportunity to develop, I accepted the invitation to join Equilibrium. Today, I lead the “Sluncho” Integrated Children’s Services – three social services where, together with our teams, we provide daily support to children with disabilities, mothers in difficult situations, and children in need of constant medical care.

What guides me in my work is the belief that real change begins with the way we treat people – with care, attention, and respect for every child and their uniqueness.

For me, this profession is not just a job, but a mission – to stand beside people in their most difficult moments and to create an environment where children can grow up cared for, accepted, and loved.
