Ruse complex for social services raised 1252 leva by selling handmade cards and martenici during its 2013 spring fundraising campaign
Over a period of 5 days, Equilibrium team members staffed two sales points – one near the city centre and another in Ruse Mall. The martenici and cards made using the quilling technique had been made by young volunteers, foster parents and many friends and partners of the organisation.
We are immensely grateful to all those who helped us and special thanks goes to the municipal authority for, once again, provided us with a hut in their March Bazaar and helped assure the success of our campaign. Indeed, the district administration bought martenici for all their staff and guests and this gave our campaign an enormous boost.
We are grateful to the management at Ruse Mall who allowed us to set up our stand in the foyer. Thanks to the owner of the “Vasil Petleshkov” store who bought over 300 martenici to give to his customers.
This is a time of economic strictures and political unrest in the country but, nevertheless, the generosity of the townsfolk will help us fund a varied summer programme for the vulnerable children we work with.
