On 20 November 35 years ago, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted (the world united around the idea that children’s human rights should be protected in a more special way).

Today, Equilibrium received recognition from the highest level of government for its 20 years of active civil society work in protecting children’s rights, in the person of its Executive Director, Galya Bisset.

35 experts – professionals working in the civil sector received honorary awards and certificates for their active civil work in the protection of children’s rights in the Republic of Bulgaria and their proven contribution to the development of policies, services at local, regional or national level.

The awards were presented by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Minister of Education Galin Tsokov and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivaylo Ivanov on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified by 196 countries, including Bulgaria.
