Our little Sunbeams

The family-type accommodation centre for children with severe disabilities and in need of constant medical care is one of eight social services entrusted to the Equilibrium Association by the Municipality of Ruse.

But this place is much more than a social service.

It is a home. A home where children with serious diagnoses and difficult prognoses live—children whom the system often says have little chance of a long and fulfilling life.

However, we believe otherwise.

We believe in care.

We believe in love.

And above all, we believe in them.

The Equilibrium team is well trained and dedicated to its mission. We provide medical, social, and emotional support around the clock because these children need not only treatment but also warmth, security, and human closeness.

Since 2016, 45 children have passed through the center.

Behind this number are real stories of hope:

  •    14 children were able to return to their biological families after we supported their parents in caring for them.
  •    Eight children found love and security in foster families, where they began to truly thrive.
  •    Four children were adopted and are now growing up surrounded by love.

Because the most powerful medicine for every child is family and love.

How you can help

Your support is invaluable to our little Sunbeams.

You can become a volunteer—read them stories, sing them songs, or just give them a hug. Sometimes a hug means more than anything else.

You can also help by making a donation. Funds for the service are often insufficient, and caring for these children requires constant medical and specialized resources.

We would also be grateful for donations in kind:

nappies, formula milk, baby food, and other necessary products.

Together we can do more

With your support, we can give these children not only care, but also a chance for a better life.

Let’s continue to keep the light shining on our little Sunbeams. ☀️
