Our activities this year were entirely orchestrated by a talented group of volunteers from the city’s English language school. Our team provided only resources and practical support.
The action took place in the park where the youngsters were led on a treasure hunt involving fairies, the king and queen of the forest and Babar the Bear.
Our guest of honour – who sent our young adventurers on their way – was Galya Atanasova representing the regional branch of the State Agency of Child Protection.
The teenage volunteers are participants in Equilibrium’s training programme for young activists and they are learning how to act as social entrepreneurs. They’d prepared gift-packs for the young clients and their brothers and sisters who took part.
In addition to the activities for our clientele, children and parents, who were enjoying the afternoon sunshine, were invited to our charity stand. The children provided their own contributions to our al fresco art gallery while adults were invited to leave messages on a giant bulletin board.
We sold handmade crafts and a range of products from herbs gathered and dried during the prior weeks.
