Implementation Period: 1st June, 2021 – 30 September, 2022
Source of Funding: The Swiss Philanthropy Foundation (via Tanya’s Dream programme in Bulgaria)
Role of Organization: Contractor
Main Objectives: The planning of social services cannot be adequate if our understanding of local communities and the evolution of familial / social challenges are poorly understood. In the first instance, this project is designed to enable individuals affected by the deinstitutionalization process (adults and children) to act as self-advocates so as to clearly express their needs and aspirations. These individuals will then be encouraged to embark on community initiatives designed to draw attention to significant issues. On this basis, service providers benefit from concrete information about their clientele and the communities in which they operate. This serves the planning and development of family support services. Institutional decision making is rendered more socially relevant.
