Equilibrium is one of three organizations across the country currently selected by the Iris Donation Programme to receive funding for its BGN 20,000 project to provide support to vulnerable children and their families affected by COVID-19
The programme is providing funding to Equilibrium for the second time as a sign of its appreciation for its contribution to the life and health of vulnerable children through the implementation of its first project “Sustainable Families”. Within a period of 5 months the project provided support to 313 people, 171 of whom children from 74 families in Ruse region at risk of disaster and separation from children.
The new 8-month project will help 90 families with 195 children in the area overcome the negative effects of the pandemic. In addition to the direct support for families, Equilibrium is expected to issue brochures for raising babies aged 0-1 years and for early childhood development, through which the effect of the project will reach many more families across the country.
The IRIS programme supports projects of civil society organizations, community centres and initiative groups to help vulnerable children affected by COVID-19 and their families. The programme was created on the initiative of the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum, the National Network for Children and the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation.
