The training programme developed by “Equilibrium” offers training in 7 thematic areas in which the EQ team has gained substantial experience and practical know how and the programme has gained momentum and popularity recently leading to our trainers visiting 6 facilities in the space of two month.
The interest of most of my colleagues focused on experience in the management of social services and specific models and practices developed and applied in Ruse’s complex for social support.
Managers and employees of CSC Dimitrovgrad, Cherven Bryag, Svishtov, Razgrad, Silistra and Samuel shared their problems in their work mainly related to day-on-day communication with child protection departments, working with foster parents and foster care development , inconsistencies in the practical interpretation of legislation n that created additional difficulties for the management of case work and lack of adequate resources to support the families they work with.
Trainers from the team of “Equilibrium” presented alternative solutions and practices that have been developed in Ruse that go some way to dealing with these issues so as to achieve a consistently high standard of social support.
Participants were provided with new tools and an insight into the principles of case management in the sphere of family support.
Feedback on the training programme was very positive and participants expressed the desire to exchange further experience and progress to more advanced training.
During October, the team provided intensive training for 14 staff from the newly created family-type homes for adults with psychiatric problems. Milena Vlahova – Director of Complex and one of the best methodologists in the field presented the basic theoretical and practical principles in social work over a period of 40 hours. The new facility is based at Ruse’s Centre for Mental Health which is the service provider.
